Notations on death, kindness, love and hope

I've been investigating the possibility of doing business on the internet as part of my 'job-hunting' and as part of that I've been following a few internet marketing blogs. Sam Freedom's is one of them. But when I looked up his blog today, I found a entry of an entirely different sort, titled "Kindness Went and Got a Face."

Sam comments on the unexpected death of a good man, the husband of a fellow internet marketer, Priyah Shah. Her comments on this same event can be found on her blog at: http://marketingslave.com/2005/06/06/a-tribute-to-my-love/

The comments posted in response to Priyah's "Taking a sabbatical" post brought tears to my eyes and lifted my spirit immensely. Amazing.

Both Sam's comments and Priyah's comments are both well worth the time to read - full of kindness and love. Very touching. Full of courage, full of the best and most beautiful of being human. Gives me hope for humanity.

Here's the link to Sam's blog for his comments as well:

Hi Raggedy Man,

I read your kind and generous comments on my blog and thought I'd stop by to connect and say hello.

But I find myself pleasantly surprised at how well you write and how honest you are in your self-reflection. It's that ability to be self-honest that makes one's views of the external world more honest as well. Very simply, self-honesty results in less unresolved material to distort the outer picture, so things are seen more clearly for what they are.

Isn't Simon's cutting edge rather nice? Whether or not you agree with him, I'll bet you appreciate Michael Savage for just the same reason.

Anyways, I responded to you at my blog saying that I was reasonably certain you did not do enough to make your blog visible to the rest of the world because your writing is of a precious quality and I've no doubt there'd be more comment activity here were it better known.

pingomatic.com and
feedburner.com for starters.

Thanks for you insightful reply. I'll be linking to your blog from mine after I make my next template renovations. And feel free to keep in touch.

Sincerely,
Sam Freedom

Sam, your feedback about my writing blows me away. I hadn't thought of making my blog available to a wider audience on purpose.

If I am to do as you suggest, I have a lot to learn. Pinging? How, and why? where would I begin, starting from pre-'A'?

I've been living in a different world than you do, I can see. You speak as an Olympic diver would to someone who just learned there is a 'pool'.

And yes, I often tune into 'The Savage Nation.' I listen, head nodding, as long as I can bear the insanity. I am unacquainted with Simon, however.

Thanks again, Sam - for your acknowledgement, your encouragement, and for your invitation. I will keep in touch.
